The newly designed SHeMat poster will be presented today at the International Conference on Self Healing Materials (ICSHM2013) in Ghent, Belgium. The poster was developed together with the SHeMat fellows for dissemination purposes.

26. March 2013 | Summer School

First Summer School SHeMat 2013

The first summer school within the SHeMat project will take place in Freiburg, Germany from Monday 22 July until Tuesday 30 July 2013. Topics of the training school are “Bio-inspiration as tool to novel technical solutions” and “Assessment of self-healing capabilities”.

08. February 2013 I Workshop

Successful workshop to specify & define the assessment of self-healing capabilities in Oberhausen, 25 January 2013

A one day event took place in Oberhausen to discuss and specify common quantification methods. The methods within the 5 material classes, ceramics, coating, composites, elastomers and concrete were discussed and a procedure for the common definition for the self-healing concept determined. Besides the project partners, experienced and early stage researchers attended the workshop.

12. November 2012 | Project Meeting SHeMat

Project Meeting in Brussels on November 7, 2012

On November 7, the third project meeting of the SHeMat project took place in the town of Brussels. The meeting was held to present and discuss first experimental results and the work with the fellows. One fellow, Sandra Lucas, presented first approaches of her work on quantification and standardization of self-healing materials. Sandra is working as a post-doc at Fraunhofer UMSICHT and is staying in Paris as ESPCI for a secondment at the moment. The meeting was successful and further steps were agreed. In January a workshop on the assessment and quantification of self-healing materials is planned. The next project meetings will take place during the first training-school in July in Freiburg.
